Job Posting and a chatty mother

Art therapist/ Elementary and High School
-Part time (ESY) DESTINY program
-Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education.

I found this position available at the K12 JobSpot http://k12jobspot.com.

I also wanted to share a networking experience that resulted because of my very friendly mother. For teacher appriciation week, the school she works in brought in people to provide little massages for the staff. My mom mentioned how I was graduating in art therapy, and the woman giving her a massage told her that I should get in contact with her after I graduate because they would love to integrate that into their services. It is a chiropractic center, which is a place I would never think to look for an art therapy job! I will keep you all posted on contact information for this company; I am not sure where that woman's card is at the moment. But it is exciting how more people are not responding with "huh?" when they hear art therapy. :)

Networking Monkey

I was browsing the web in search of what was out there for networking in Chicago and ran across this site:

www.networkingmonkey.com

It is a Chicagoland site that you can belong to as a professional and search local networking events. Once a member (the first year is free) you can search events as well as post them yourself. Thought it was pretty interesting and worth sharing. Here's how the site describes their services:

"Networking Monkey is committed to helping business professionals locate and attend the best networking events that Chicagoland has to offer. We have compiled a broad list of events to ensure the most complete and accurate data base for all of our monkey friends. Try searching by area, event type, event name or date to find what you are looking for. Not specific enough? Use our "Refine Your Search" tool to help you further."
